Villa Fody is the flagship home of Dodo Retreats — the very first property we purchased in October 2023 to launch our holiday‑rental journey.
From the moment we stepped inside, we knew it had everything our guests look for: space, comfort, privacy, and that unmistakable Mauritian charm. It felt like the perfect place to begin our story.
Why “Villa Fody”?
During our first week‑long trial stay — with my children in tow to test every corner of the house — we noticed a little visitor who quickly became part of our daily routine.
Each lunchtime on the terrace, a bright Mauritian Red Fody would perch nearby, waiting patiently for crumbs and keeping us company. That tiny splash of red, full of character and curiosity, inspired the name that now feels so perfectly suited to the villa.

Why “Bulbul”?
Continuing our tradition of naming our villas after native Mauritian birds, this home takes its name from the Mauritius Bulbul — a charming songbird known for its distinctive call and lively personality. Just like its namesake, Villa Bubul brings a sense of warmth, character, and island spirit to every stay.
